[Weather] AAG anemometer repair

Hello

I have an old AAG anemometer, whose cups have disintegrated. It's
located near the coast and the plastic apparently gets eaten by the salt
in the air (my inland AAG anemometers are fine after 10+ years in
service). So I need to replace the cups. Has anyone come across
somewhere on the net something matching which could be used for such a
repair?

Thanks

You can 3D print the parts you need. (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:364660). If you don’t know anyone with a 3D printer, reach out to your local Makerspace group. One of the members will surely have one. Or, you can have the parts printed by one of the 3D printing services such as Shapeways.

Hi Steinar,

I bought this replacement set for my original Dallas semiconductor
unit as I had the same issue as you(your brittle cups may be due to a UV
sun issue not salt issue and I would advise using UV paint on your
replacement set). I believe they are the same for your unit.

Thanks. Good to know that there are several options. I've already
ordered a 3D print, which even was a cheaper option. And here's the
result (timelapse of the print - big file):

I should have it in the mail ina couple of days. Yes, I should add some
UV paint.

Salt is definitely the killer here, not UV. The one near the coast
lasted about 7 years, but I've another that has run fine for nearly 14
years now, but at here at 60N where it's cloudy most of the time, the
amount of UV received is not very high.
