Ah, the "Good Old Days..."

Not sure when I started with 1-Wire.... but the Internet Wayback
Machine (http://archive.org/web/) found me something suggesting it
was a little before 2001. (I keep better records these days when
starting into something!)

I'd read something in one of the British computer magazines of the
time about the 1-Wire family. I was already monitoring weather, and
logging data... from at least 1984, using a BBC Micro.

I have two Bray barometers which, touch wood, are behaving well.

One of my anemometers is the one I was using in 1988... and it was
home-made! (A few running repairs over the years.)

Deeply frustrated that in the TWO places I monitor weather, I don't
have a way to meaningfully sample wind direction!! (Lots of trees/
buildings. Sigh.)

Started with just logging temperatures, windspeed. Have also recorded
barometric pressure, more temperatures, humidity for many years. Put
the data online. Added images from IP cameras. Etc, etc! Have always
used my own software... Should have "gone with" Arne's, no doubt...
but why do something the easy way???

... includes, at the moment (it is a dynamic page) the recent big
storm in New England.... grey bars: midnights.

The red-ish up/down/up/down across "the bottom" is outdoor
temperature. The storm was across the days 3 and 2 before the day
with the odd "V" in the tture.

Magenta: Windspeed (horizontal, no wind. Steep, high wind)

Dark green: Barometric pressure.

It's been good! And looks set fair to continue thus!
